22 year old Essex based producer / singer La Fontaine teams up with Uton for the release of his latest single ‘London City’.

Introduced to a wide variety of music at an early age by his parents, La Fontaine discovered his love for hip-hop and R&B as a teenager and soon began writing lyrics of his own. His passion then led him to a Sound Engineering & Music Technology college course in Islington, London, whilst he perfected his sound from a crude home studio set up in his bedroom. In late 2010 La Fontaine produced and co-wrote his first independent release ‘Go Go Go’, a collaboration with 2amplified and The Gents. The song received over 12,000 hits in it’s first two months on Youtube and picked up strong TV support from Channel AKA, paving the way for La Fontaine’s future success.

Fast forward to 2012, and La Fontaine has released a brand new smash titled ‘London City’. The track is a collaboration with French ragga singer Uton, who has established himself as a leading purveyor of the genre since his 1999 hit ‘Cocaine Business’, along with a host of guest appearances in the hip hop world.

Accompanied by a slick, club themed visual, the single amalgamates RnB, dancehall and pop to create what is set to be one of 2012′s biggest club anthems. La Fontaine fans will love it, clubbers will request it and DJs will be red in the face without it in their record box this winter.

Rep Dat presents a live competition that takes us into the world of undiscovered UK Urban talent. The competition will be filmed on the night and spread over a series of five shows for OH TV, Sky Channel 199.

One Mic differs from other competitions on television as it aims to boost the popularity and lyrical content of unknown artists who specialise in the following genres: Soul & RnB, Reggae, Hip Hop.
It is also being filmed exclusively for OH TV, Sky Channel 199 to be broadcast to an estimated audience of 25 million, on the 5thMarch 10pm and repeated Thursdays every week for 3 months.

The majority of talent shows use the same format making them predictable and lacking in entertainment. The UK urban scene is highly unrepresented and exposed despite there being a huge following by 14 – 27 years old.

Recent shows like the X-Factor chose the winners focus mainly on the pop scene an area that is fast becoming outdated and less fashionable with the youth of the UK. Although X-factor focuses on commercial music, the content is fast becoming out of touch with the desires and choice of young people.

One Mic aims to take a different approach by focusing on individuals and their musical ability from the urban underground. There is a huge market for urban music and this is slowly being recognised by the media. Through One Mic we believe that we will be an invaluable platform for young artists to gain access to the industry and acquire more exposure.

Birmingham based recording artist Fakta completes a trio of pre-xmas releases with another smash single titled ‘I’m A King’.

Renowned for his clinical lyrical ability and unique style from an early age, Fakta has spent many years honing his abilities within the UK underground, with key releases including ‘Lokd Behind Bars’ and the critically acclaimed ‘I Need Management 2′ mixtape. These notable releases received support from the likes of BBC 1xtra, UK Overstood, Channel AKA and Media Massacre, a trend which looks set to continue with Fakta’s forthcoming releases.
